SÄhÀr stÄr det i mailet:
Dear Carina,
You may remember my message a short time ago. It was about the devastating impact of the global food crisis on the world’s most vulnerable people.
Eleven-month-old Ahmed is among them. He lives in Somalia, where conflict and the longest drought in 40 years have pushed people to the brink.
With your support, we have been doing everything possible to keep famine at bay, but the situation remains critical.
People are dying. My colleagues on the ground have told me about children who do not survive the journey to find help.
With your regular gift, you are providing a lifeline to people facing hunger globally. You helped scale up our work to reach record numbers in 2022 – over 140 million people.
But we’re already being called on to do more in 2023 – especially with emergencies like the recent earthquakes in TĂŒrkiye and Syria, which left many thousands of people without a home and facing hunger.

With food prices at a 10-year high, the coming months will be a time of extreme jeopardy for people around the world who are struggling to feed their families.
WFP’s Early Warning Watch List is showing a high risk of new crises in Sudan, Ethiopia and the Central African Republic.
Your regular gift shows your commitment to fighting hunger. Month-by-month, you provide vital on-going support for lifesaving programmes. But the number of people facing acute hunger is increasing. So is the cost of delivering lifesaving food assistance.

WFP Thank you for supporting
God knows what is hiding in those weak and drunken heartsGuess you kissed the girls and made them cryThose hard-faced Queens of misadventureGod knows what is hiding in those weak and sunken eyesFiery throngs of muted angelsGiving love but getting nothing back, oh
People help the peopleAnd if your homesick, give me your hand and I'll hold itPeople help the peopleNothing will drag you downOh, and if I had a brain, oh, and if I had a brainI'd be cold as a stone and rich as the foolThat turned all those good hearts away
God knows what is hiding in this world of little consequenceBehind the tears, inside the liesA thousand slowly dying sunsetsGod knows what is hiding in those weak and drunken heartsGuess the loneliness came knockingNo one needs to be alone or sinking
People help the peopleAnd if your homesick, give me your hand and I'll hold itPeople help the peopleNothing will drag you downOh, and if I had a brain, Oh, and if I had a brainI'd be cold as a stone and rich as the foolThat turned, all those good hearts away
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, oohNah, nah, nah, nah, nah, ooh
People help the peopleAnd if your homesick, give me your hand and I'll hold itPeople help the peopleNothing will drag you downOh, and if I had a brain, Oh, and if I had a brainI'd be cold as a stone and rich as the foolThat turned all those good hearts away
